Meet Freddie(Interview conducted December 2015) :

Where were you born: I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, where I was blessed to attend Little Rock Central High School and find my love for acting. Being from a place surrounded with so much nature and history truly impacted my life, and as each day passes I'm more and more excited to tell people where I'm from.

Favorite Play/Musical: I can't tell you the playwright, but it was an adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood where the
Men In Black came to save Little Red. This is my all time favorite because it was my first role and the beginning of this lovely roller coaster I find myself on now.

First Play: I can't remember the first play I ever saw, but two performances put me on this path. One came from my older sister's choir (in high school), they performed a selection of songs from "Rent" and some operas, I was 7 or 8 at the time and this performance still sticks with me. The next one came when I was in the 9th grade and my high school performed Seussical: the musical, I remember after seeing just one act of the show saying "this is what I want to do." Now, I'm still wishing I could sing and dance.

Show you hope Pyramid does one day: Wanting for nothing else, but to help the community, I feel the shows should really come from a want or need from Des Moines. But if I had to answer, I would love to see "Othello", "Hurt Village", "Crowns", there are plenty of others and great new works coming almost daily (it seems).

Current non-Pyramid related Project: Currently, I'm a graduate student at Columbia University pursuing my MFA in acting. There are many different projects being worked on and ironed out, but I'm grateful to have the opportunity to work on my craft and bring lessons I learn back to Pyramid.

What does Pyramid mean to you: Pryamid is a source of inspiration for under represented people, this company gives a child who never thought about acting, writing plays, and directing to see others like them doing those things. It also brings the opportunity to showcase history through a lens for generations before us, who held a lot of pain and suffering inside them.
