About the Play:

Zora decides to fight back after being attacked on a Red Line train in Chicago. Prowess is a smart and funny new play that takes a hard look at who gets to be a hero and who gets painted as a villain. Packed full of humor, dance, and explosive fights. Prowess packs a real punch!

Ike Holter is one of the most exciting playwrights in the country and his accolades include Yale University's Windham-Campbell Prize in 2017 and a citation for the Steinberg/ATCA award in 2018. Two-Time Cloris Leachman Award winner Ken-Matt Martin directs with fight direction by Cloris Leachman Award Nominee Karla Kash. Martin and Kash's production marks only the second time the play has been produced and comes to Des Moines following a three week run at Brown/Trinity Rep in Providence, RI. Prowess was originally produced by Jackalope Theatre Company in Chicago, IL.
