John G. Pomeroy

John G. Pomeroy is in his 27th year as a professor of technical theatre with Drake University and is currently serving as Chair of the Dept. of Theatre Arts; served as technical director and lighting designer for Pyramid Theatre Company for the past 6 years; and has been a Union stagehand as a member of IATSE since 1997 having previously served as President of Local #67.

For Drake, John teaches a variety of stagecraft and technical theatre courses, works as the Technical Director for Theatre Arts and the School of Fine Arts, engineers scenery and stage effects, and supervises the scene shop. John would like to thank his wife, Karen, for her continued love, encouragement, and support of our family’s involvement in this wonderful profession and is so thankful that our son Jake has become a specialist in this industry.
