Basi Affia (John)

Bassi Affia (John) Legend has it that Basi Affia was born with the Sock and Buskin masks in his hands, acting in small commercials and high school plays. He professionalized his acting career with Pyramid Theatre Co. in A Soldiers Play and Hooded. As he gained awareness of the travesties in the world around him, he began writing, acting, and making music to speak on the issues he felt called to stand against. Basi strives to speak on real-life issues through many mediums of storytelling, including founding Iowa's first black comic book & animation company, Sensiil Studios. Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa he is a husband, father of two, and a soldier in the Army National Guard where he refines his faith through sacrifice.
